4 Things You Must Avoid When Sleeping with Eyelash Extensions

There are many reasons why people choose to get eyelash extensions for themselves. Whatever they are, know that these enhancements do not just give results that satisfy clients’ desire for more of what they consider beautification, but also present a greater responsibility.

Having eyelash extensions can be stressful, too, most especially if it’s your first time. When you have eyelash extensions, it’s not easy to do some things normally as how you do them before because restrictions exist in order for you to maintain the good condition of your extensions.

One of the challenging things to do when you have them is sleeping. It’s because you are unconscious when you sleep, thus, you might not know when you’re already ruining your eyelash extensions or bringing harm to your eyes. To help you with that, take note of these 4 things which must be avoided when it’s sleeping time with your eyelash extensions.

SKIPPING CLEANING

Taking good care of your lashes and your extensions begin with cleaning them before you go to bed. Do not skip that part because it’s not just nasty but also unhealthy. Particularly, if you’re wearing makeup the whole day, wash with an oil-free remover. Use the appropriate cleanser prescribed by your lash technician.

Do not use any other cleaning agent that’s not specifically for the purpose of cleaning delicate eyelashes. The right cleanser to use is made for your eyes’ good and is essential to safeguard and maintain the life of your eyelash extensions. Additionally, after cleaning, make sure you avoid sleeping with wet lashes.

EYE RUBBING

Rubbing the eyes is one of the primary reasons why eyelash extensions get damaged. Do not do it if you don’t want to hurt your eyes and your wallet for the money you will technically waste and for the fees you’ll pay again to fix them.

While doing your pre-bed time cleansing, see to it that you will not harm your eyes by rubbing. At the same time, you should be careful, so you won’t rub them while sleeping. A proper eye mask would aid you to do that as well. If not, you should practice yourself to avoid eye rubbing even when you are asleep.

UNRULY PILLOWS

Pillows randomly placed without thought on your bed can bring danger to your eyelash extensions while you peacefully sleep. Don’t be too comfortable and complacent that your pillows will not cause you problems. You might just see fallen lashes on your pillow the next day. That’s why positioning them correctly before you sleep is definitely helpful.

You can use your pillows for support by putting them around you while you sleep. They will help prevent your deeply sleeping self from rolling on to your side where you might destroy your eyelash extensions. Placing two pillows under your arms allows you to maintain a neutral body position. Under your knees, you can also put one to avoid lower back pain. Choose the fitting pillow for you.

SLEEPING ON YOUR TUMMY

One of the main things that you must avoid when sleeping with eyelash extensions is sleeping on your stomach. This is self-explanatory, but to remind you, you put your extensions beside dangers if you do that. With one move while lying on your tummy, you can wreck them.

Sleeping on your stomach allows your eyes to have contact with the pillow. Your eyelash extensions can get tangled. They can get brittle until they fall off eventually. If you’re not used to sleeping on your back, teach yourself how to. It can take some time, but this one is very important.
